It is not news that Kaduna state is very volatile when it comes to crisis. The state has a long history of crisis mainly on religious ground.

The recent happenings in Kaduna is getting residents worried that there may be a large scale crisis in the state again if not checked sincerely and urgently too.

About two weeks ago, there was trouble in the KABALA area of the state following crisis that led to the killing of a Christian by some Muslim faithfuls according to our reporters who visited the area shortly after peace was restored. The Christians in Kabala was already calling on their fellow Christians in other Christian dominated areas of Kaduna for re-enforcement before peace was restored.

Again, two days ago, there was trouble in Narayi-Banawa area. To be specific, a very popular joint known as Green Apple was the bone of contention. The tension was so high that residents and traders in the popular Sabo market abandoned  their goods and properties as they ran for safety. There would have been a complete breakdown of law and order in the state but for the timely intervention of the security forces. Thanks to a combined team of Operation Yanki, Nigerian Police force, Civil Defence and other well meaning individuals who were so professional and civilized in dealing with the issue.

This report is not to create parnick but a call on the Federal Government to closely monitor activities in Kaduna state to avoid a total breakdown of  law and order in the state. The time to act is now.
